My First Review, Ever.

Written by Austin Griffith

Back in 2008, i met a man who worked for a small website as a game reviewer. I had thought he was the most-awesome person in the world for writing for the site. After spending hours reading everything on the site, I typed up a review for Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, one of my first games ever.

Now, before reading this, let me put some perspective on it; I was 11, in 5th or 6th grade, and could barely spell. This is my review as I typed it and sent it, with no changes meant.

Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway Is in one word Spectacular.

Hell’s Highway drops you into The combat between America and The Germans during September of 1944.You are Sgt. Baker, leader of your squad. After making your game, you  begin to see a 3-5 minuete cinimatic, which at first will make very little sense atall. But as you venture into the story, You begin to see the meanings of things from this cut scene, as well as tap into the true stories and feelings of the charecters..

Challenging?Eh..not so much

When you first begin your quest threw Hell’s Highway,You may think to yourself”Do i really suck that badly at FPS’s?”And the answer is – No, Hell’s Highway is a dynamic twist, especially with the some what confusing controls. If your used to Call Of Duty or Gears, it’ll take some getting used to Hell’s Highway, but in the end it’s all worth it.

Innovative Controls?Uhm, You could say that

Brothers In Arms sure does put a twist on FPS’s, but the bad thing about it -The Controls- Up until about an hour of gameplay i found myself often having to consult the handbook for how to things that should be simple as lobbing a grenade, to telling my MG Team to move to cover.UbiSoft can try to say these are innovative controls…but i beg to differ.

Good Graphics?Maybe

Now, although graphics dont make or brake a game, they do add alot to the over all expeireince.Hells Highway has great gameplay graphics, the cinematics clips often have the graphics bulding up infront of you, making you wonder away from the scene to look at the building with windows appearing on it.

Final Thoughts.

Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway is a truly spectacular game that will keep you going for hours.Although there are a few Minor flaws, they don’t effect the gameplay to often, but are slightly noticable.UbiSoft has truly made a brilliant game.Although Multiplayer is a bit dry and lacks any real thrill unless connected to Xbox LIVE, it does nothing to ruin the gameplay or dry up the expeirience.

And in case you’re wondering, I wrote this in Microsoft Notepad. No spell check, no reading it over.
