Indie Lovers We Present To You, Vessel

Written by Barry Villatoro

Welcome to the wonderful world of Vessel. Where the latest invention of the main character, Arkwright, has gone awry. The latest invention is Fluros. Living beings made from a  liquid state, water, lava, chemicals and anything else that fits the description. Turning on their users and creating havoc around the world (sounds like iRobot). Now in order to set these events straight you’ll help Arkwright create new Fluros destroy the crazy ones and try to gain control of the rest, all the while completing complex puzzles. You’ll travel through four worlds seeking to finish Arkwright’s newest invention, “The Accelerator.”

Being co-developed by Strange Loop Games and IndiePub, you’ll use the unique abilites of each Fluros which include, “including melting, reforming, mixing with other types of fluid, and re-growing lost limbs” to complete the puzzles and progress throughout the game.

“With Vessel, we wanted to push the boundaries of how hardware power is used in games,” said Vessel designer and Strange Loop Games co-founder John Krajewski. “Typically, hardware power put towards graphics and physics is only an aesthetic addition. In Vessel, the foundation of the gameplay and puzzles is based in liquid simulation.”

Vessel is coming to PC through Steam and Strangeloopgames.com. XBLA and PSN will have thrier chance with it, but a date is still TBD.
