Game of Thrones RPG: Go Behind The Wall

I have to be honest, I have not watched a second of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. But I hear it is immensely popular, and what does one do to maximize capital out of a blossoming franchise? Why, you make a game based on it of course! Now while it is common knowledge that barring a few (and I do mean a FEW) exceptions, games based on licensed properties tend to not be very good. Cyanide and Focus Home Interactive hope to be the exceptional exception rather than the rule, and here is a trailer  for the upcoming RPG.

Game of Thrones RPG will release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC early 2012.

Kenny is a newcomer to the video game journalism scene, but has been playing games as far back as '85! He grew up a Genesis kid, but has a very strong love for all things Nintendo (and all of its many, many, MANY rehashes and remakes of 1st party stuff). Loves to discuss games with people and is super excited to be working towards what any aspiring game journalist really wants... press credentials! #E3orbust

Wow, looks like they’re taking things in the right direction anyway. Combat and graphical style look distinctly Witcher 2-y, which is definitely a good thing. Their talk of the player being in control of the story seems very promising as well, so here’s hoping they manage to deliver on that.

I had initially dismissed this as another TV tie in money grab, but that video’s actually got me interested now…
