We’ve all heard the argument that games are art. There’s been discussions on podcasts, interviews and in articles. There’s been talk of the cross-over from games to movies and how they seem to be moving closer together each day. Well, now we have a little more proof that videogames are starting to be appreciated on a much larger scale. Yesterday, I saw an interesting tweet from Kellee Santiago, Ex Co-founder of thatgamecompany, creators of Journey. She tweeted ;

Austin Wintory, Composer of the game Journey has been nominated for Best Soundtrack For Visual Media. He is in the running against people like Hans Zimmerman for The Dark Knight Rises and Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. This is pretty incredible and we congratulate Mr. Wintory and wish him luck!
