Journey Has A Release Date

Written by Chris Lock

Today, via the Playstation Blog, we finally got the release date for the much anticipated Journey. On march 13th you will be able to purchase Journey for 15$.

Journey’s name is very apt, as the game truly is more about the journey than the destination. You are a cloth person with no idea who, what, or where you are. You spot a mountain in the distance and for the rest of the game that is your goal and objective. As you wander semi-aimlessly through the sand you will encounter strange caves, castles, and even other players. You can choose to play with these other explorers or to wander off on your own. The game hopes to be just as much about discovering the world and you discover yourself.

Jenova Chen, Creative Director behind Journey had this to say about the games development.

So for us, the Journey in the game has also become a metaphor for the development process of the game itself. Our team is very close to our own mountaintop; we are just a few short weeks away from letting the world experience what we’ve poured our hearts and souls into these last three years. I can’t describe how eager we are to let everyone finally play the game and hear about your experiences with it.

Are you excited for Journey? Will you play with others or go it solo? Let us know in the comments.
