How we review games at LevelSave.
How we review
Every LevelSave review is written by someone who played the game, and we note the platform we played on. We finish every game we review, or the review says why we didn’t, like a live-service game that never really ends or a multiplayer game we played before launch.
Our verdicts
Every review ends in one of four verdicts:
- Must Play
- One of the best games of its kind.
- Play
- A good game that’s worth your time and money.
- Play with Caution
- Worth playing for some people, but real problems hold it back.
- Do Not Play
- Not worth your time, at any price.
Scores
Older reviews also carry a score out of 10. New reviews lead with the verdict, and some also include a score out of 10.
Review copies
Some games we review are bought, and some are review copies from the publisher. When a publisher provided the copy, the review says so.
Independence
Publishers and developers don’t see our reviews before they go live, don’t get a say in the verdict, and can’t pay for coverage. Advertising on LevelSave is served automatically by Google and has nothing to do with what we write. Some posts may include affiliate links. If you buy through one, LevelSave may earn a small commission. We mark affiliate links where they appear, and they never affect a verdict.
Updates
Games change after launch. If a patch or expansion changes our opinion, we publish a review update rather than quietly editing the original, and the original verdict stays on the record.
