Wolfenstein: The New Order Teaser Trailer Released

Written by James Pope

Wolfenstein-The-New-Order1Bethesda is at it again. This time it’s the new Wolfenstein: The New Order Teaser Trailer. From the look of the brand new vibe of the trailer, the series is taking an enormous chance by introducing cybernetics and mechs. The trailer shows us nothing in the way of gameplay yet still does a good job of creating a certain curiosity when it comes to their upcoming installment in the series. Details that are known so far are that this game will indeed involve Nazis attempting to re-write history using their new mechs and that the team is working on a multiplayer component. While this is not a wealth of information, there is plenty to see in the Wolfenstein: The New Order Teaser Trailer!

We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere, said Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames. As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.

  • Wolfenstein huh.. Although this title and genre have been regurgitated so many times over the years, I must say that I am intrigued for two reasons. First of which, is just pure nostalgia. I will never forget the original installment of this franchise, as it was the first completely blood riddled, nazi killing, secret wall revealing, excessive firepower, 3d extravaganza that I had ever seen! On a floppy disc no less! Unprecedented at the time..
The second reason is that Bethesda is behind it. ID has been an innovater in the industry for many years now, creating some incredibly iconic games along the way, and I feel no one could carry on their legacy better than Bethesda. Not a ton of games on their roster, yet all are top notch, minus a few negative reviews of Dishonored. But from Morrowind to Call of Cthulhu:Dark Coners of the Earth, all the way to their masterpiece Skyrim, as well as their recent ressurection of Doom 3 BFG edition, Bethesda, for me, holds a special podium above almost all other game studios, and I greatly look forward to see what they do with this classic title.

    • ID’s work in the last decade has been really stale. They focus far too much on graphics, and forget all about gameplay. All of their previous major releases have been very mediocre, in my opinion.

I’m glad they’re putting a new spin on it too; there really is a limit to the number of times you can return to a Nazi-filled castle. Really looking forward to this one.
