THQ today announced that work for the upcoming Enter the Domanatrix pack for Saints Row the Third will no longer be a part of Saints 3, instead being used in there newly announced sequel to Saints Row the Third, which they aptly have titled “The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise.”
“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise,” said Jason Rubin, THQ’s President. “I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that game. When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”
Hopefully that’s just a working title, because “Hi thanks for calling Gamestop where you can preorder your copy of “The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise.” my name is Barry how may I help you?” Is quite a mouthful. Hopefully THQ can squeeck out the next Saints game before crumbling to there financial woes. We’ll update with more information as it becomes available.
SR3 jumped the shark, in the best possible way. I don’t even know what they’d do with SR4, but I’m curious to find out.
