The Sims 4 in 2014

Written by Teresa Ryder

“[Single-player games] Is going to be a major part of the market,” said Will Wright, creator and father of Spore, the Sims and Sim City, in 2010.

That being said almost 4 years ago explains the rally of Sims that have come forth over the years and even more people waiting for anticipation of the new Sims 4.

Sims 4 was officially announced at Gamescom in Germany over the summer and it gave players a first look at all the new and improved ways of game play.  The biggest change made was the ‘Create a Sim’. It allows players to morph, literally, any part of the body to the size you desire. No more sliders, it is all with just a click and drag of your mouse.

A lot of the game improves what the Sims 3 was tying to do with the ‘blueprint’ building mode. Now, while building and furnishing a home in the game a room can literally be dragged and dropped wherever on the blueprint.

In addition to the physical aspects of the game players can now set the emotions of the Sims and watch their creations transform in front of them. “The choices that I have made, all affect the range of emotions that I have taken my Sims through,” said Rachel Franklin, a VP Executive Producer on the new game, as she shows off her “scene” from the new Sims at a press conference at Gamescom.

The emotional choices that the characters make will carry over until the next time they meet each other. That in-turn affects the conversation and physical choices the characters will have with one another.

According to the official Sims site, the new game has been designed only for offline and is currently only available for PC users. Though, “there will be additional fun and social game play elements for players who choose to go online.”

With no actual release date except 2014, there will constantly be new additions and specs added to the information.
