Sonic is back and this time he’s racing… Sonic All Star Racing will feature your favorite characters from the series as well as a cast of SEGA names sure to bring smiles to old school gamers faces. Vehicles will transform from planes to boats to traditional land vehicles and will be available on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, 3DS and PC digital download coming in late 2012.
This will be the second iteration of the Sonic Kart Racing series, and will take the series to a whole new level featuring transforming vehicles to take advantage of the varying terrains. Sega All Stars features the return of Sonic himself, Dr. Eggman and AiAi as they take on new characters headlined by Gilius Thunderhead of Golden Axe and Vyse of Skies of Arcadia. The tracks themselves are pulled directly from some of the most famous SEGA games.
New gameplay mechanics will allows more strategic racing as players will now have the ability to dodge power attacks and also the ability to power up your “all star meter” by racing dangerously. Sonic ASR Transformed is trying to take the kart racing genre by storm and by the looks of things it very well may… Global Sonic Brand Director: David Corless released the following statement.
Given the fantastic feedback we received from critics and consumers alike for the first game we really wanted to push the boundaries on our follow up game, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
The transforming vehicles allow us to do this – as well as drifting your car around the corners of a track, you get to fly your plane and pilot your boat against others all within one race. Add to this a grid full of star characters, retro IP, fun, fast race modes and cool tracks and racing fans of all ages are sure to love this one
I am excited as well. I thought the first one was amazing on both the Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS and can’t wait to try this one on the 3DS.
I loved the first one, it was so much fun. Color me excite.
