There was a time when video games weren’t played in the home. The hottest titles weren’t bought at a store or needed an online passcode to play. Your buddies and you grabbed as many quarters as human possible and headed to the locale arcade to get your game on. All of you crowded in front a screen much smaller and cruder than our current TVs of today. Your eyes melted as you played for hours, spending countless quarters to continue your quest. Yes these times were great. They have slowly been returning as well. Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 appeared on the XBLA several summers ago. Last winter saw the return of the X-Men arcade game. Soon gamers will be able to stroll down memory lane with the Simpsons arcade by Konami.
During its height Simpsonsmania was unstoppable. They were able to buck the trend of horribly licensed video games. Featuring a plot so far from the actual show you couldn’t help but get sucked in, because you could play as El Barto. Featuring new modes and bonus content, including the Japanese ROM of the game, the game will even include online co-op. Players will also have access to flyers, posters and even a character guide. Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the game this coming Friday February 3 for 800 MSP. PS3 gamers will have to wait until the following Tuesday February 7 but the game will be free to PSN+ users.
I cant stop jumping up and down at this news. I played this game so much as a kid. The place I went to after school had a machine that let you play for free. I have probably beaten it 500 times but I cant wait to again.
