I loved Nexuiz. One year ago exactly I reviewed the twitch shooter that was making its way to Xbox Live two days later. I praised it. I gave it a 9.5 out of 10 and called it a modern marvel. One of the seven wonders of the world. Well, maybe not that far, but pretty close.
Now, a year later, the game has died. As a result of THQ’s recent bankruptcy, the servers have been shut down. While Illfonic’s Kedhrin Gonzales told us the game would remain on the Xbox Live Arcade for the duration of their two year contract, it appears neither Illfonic nor THQ’s shell could foot the bill to keep the servers up.
Let’s all bow our heads and give this great game the moment of silence it deserves.
