NBA Jam: On Fire Edition is as Hot as Red Lobster’s Biscuits

Written by Quaisha T

I used to own in NBA Jam for the Sega Genesis back in the day (1992-’93 basketball season to be exact). Any co-op player who came up against me was smacked down with my dungs by Charles Barkley on the Phoenix Suns or Patrick Ewing on the New York Knicks. But then I had to return my borrowed copy of the game and that was the end of my dunking days.

I can own once again in the newly released NBA Jam: On Fire Edition available now for Xbox Live at 1200 Microsoft Points and Playstation Network for $14.99 USD. This new edition to the franchise features AI used in Fight Night that learns from your moves and dishes it out back at you; new gameplay enhancements, online modes and more outrageous and unforgettable calls sounded by Tim Kitzrow.

Gamers will have 30 current NBA teams to choose from as well as from a list of secret teams, unlockable characters, mascots, legendary and international players. I hope they have Barkley and Ewing!

Here’s a list of the gameplay enhancements defined:

  • Modes:
Tag Mode and Team Fire Return – Swap team players and power boost your team
plays by performing consecutive cooperative moves.
  • AI: The AI is frightening. Enough said.
  • Jam Arena: Single or Co-op player mode in online competitions
  • Road Trip: Co-op online competition with a series of challenges against timeless legends and superstars from all 30 teams.
  • Razzle Dazzle: Dazzling the game audience with your creative moves
  • Also includes online roster updates, unlockables, challenges and secret teams.
