Heroes of Ruin, Diablo-esque Gameplay on the 3DS

Written by Barry Villatoro

Heroes of Ruin sounds very much to me like a Diablo-esque style of game. You’ll have four character classes to choose from; a mage, a ranged character that uses guns, a melee sword fighter and (one that sounds bad ass) “one other gains strength from savagely tearing through anything that stands in his way with brutal, bladed fists,” that character sounds dope.

Play solo or team up with other players with seamless “drop-in/drop-out” co-op multiplayer as you traverse the world discovering loot, enemies and I’m sure some ruins. There will be a central city hub that will act as your sanctuary and once you leave there enemies will be everywhere, but of course “none as deadly as the evil force behind the curse, which the heroes must eventually confront and destroy.” So far this game seems to be bringing a ton of content to the 3DS, we’ll hopefully know more after PAX East.

  • I wonder if the 3DS can pull off a good dungeon crawler game or not. The memory limits might be too harsh for there to be as much content as there should be in one but if anyone can pull it off it is Square.
