Nintendo is going all the way to the bank meanwhile Wal-Mart claims they lost money on Black Friday when they sold Limited Edition Nintendo Wiis for $99.96. This is basic discount holiday selling 101. Knowing products will get a huge discount during holidays retailers hope that consumers will buy more things with their purchases to keep the profits staying positive. In this case, Wal-Mart still made profit because there are games to be purchases when buying a new console system not to mention accessories.
So No, I am not boo-hooing over Wal-Mart’s small percentage of lost profit considering how some of these same consumers brought more than just Wii systems from Wal-mart stores.
More good news about Nintendo this week came in an announcement. Nintendo Club Points are now being offered in select third-party games for North America. This is great news for me since I use Nintendo Club Points to get cool items like character-designed bookmarks, calenders, accessories, and more. Previously, Nintendo Club Points were only offered in select first-party titles.
Though this is still not perfect news. Why not have points offered in ALL games?
