Amazon Black Friday PS3 Bundle removed from Calendar [UPDATE]

If you are anything like me you have been refreshing the Amazon Black Friday Calendar on occasion to check for any changes. The hope was that no changes would happen, but something did. Without explanation the PS3 250 Gig bundle, including The Last of Us and Batman Arkham: Origins, has been removed. The bundle still exists and can be found here. However, it no longer is on the Calendar page and thus no longer has a timer on it. It was originally supposed to go on sale at 3 PM PST today, but it is anyone’s guess now.

We have reached out to Amazon and will update as soon as we are able.

[UPDATE 1]

If you try to purchase the Black Friday Bundle by searching for it you are told it is out of stock. Seems like a simple enough explanation, except that the bundle was not available for sale yet. It was in line to go on sale the same time as The Last of Us, at 3 PM PST.

[UPDATE 2]

In speaking with an online rep I was told –

“I have checked on our deals for the day and I’m so sorry but I may not be able to guarantee that the deal will be posted again. However, we post different deals everyday for different items. You may want to check on our website from time to time.”

“I’m so sorry but I may not be able to determine what is the reason why the deal is gone.”

I was also told that my report would be send higher up the chain. Here is hoping that someone can figure this out before angry gamers everywhere riot. Personally, I am stuck with Amazon for this bundle because I purchased several Amazon Gift Cards. So if this does not come back my wife is going to have a very blue Christmas.

[UPDATE 3]

The time for the sale has come and gone, and the offer did not reappear on Amazon. If you were hoping to get the PS3 bundle when it was supposed to be available, tough luck. However, those of you who just happen to see it this morning, good job. Amazon listed the sale as available a good 12 hours before it was supposed to be available for purchase, and did not update the calendar to correspond with this. Oh well, at least the $150 12 Gig model is still available.

Thanks to commenters SlapHappyJesus and Geoff for the extra info.

[FINAL UPDATE]

And with nary a breath of explanation, the deal is back. Maybe it was a glitch, maybe someone made a mistake, whatever the reason, it is back now. As someone who just got back from a relatively tame Wal-Mart I wish to impart one thing on you. Do not go out tonight. It’s not worth it. Just stay inside and order your PS3 bundle through Amazon.
