Feels like yesterday that many of you readers and myself included were all excited about Sony’s foray into the console business. It was way back on December 3rd 1994, 20 years to the day, that the PlayStation made its historic debut. Sony had everyone trading in their game cartridges and picking up their new disc based games. However, discs were not the only thing that changed in Sony’s iteration of game console. The console introduced dual analog sticks and...

Gran Turismo has surpassed being just a game to me. I’ve been playing since the first GT came out on the original PlayStation when I was a freshman in high school. Gran Turismo was the sole reason I bought a PlayStation in the first place. My passion for things Gran Turismo has become more than just a love but an institution. Gran Turismo’s pedigree of excellence established a benchmark for realism and handling as well as graphical presentation. Polyphony Digital...
Ico is one of those games which is remembered fondly as a precursor to greater things. This game reminds me of others in that regard, making me think of Dark Cloud from Level 5, Metroid on NES, or any of a million firsts in a legacy. Granted, Team Ico’s catalog is much less full than either Level 5’s (a developer mostly known for their long, charming RPGs) or Samus’ titles. Nevertheless, I feel as if the two games they made have been so clearly different...
Just a heads up, but if you live in North America, your password may have been reset by Sony. Due to some weirdness on the network, Sony has decided to play it safe and do everything possible to avoid another debacle like the Great PSN Outage of 2011. Interestingly enough this isn’t effecting all users and only a select few. In a statement, Sony had this to say: “If you are getting an error that your PSN account password is incorrect, you may need to reset it, we...
The launch of both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 have come to pass. With the Wii U already launched, we are officially in the next generation of gaming. PS4 has sold through over 1 million units within 24 hours of the launch in North America!!! :D — Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp) November 17, 2013 This far overshadows Sony’s PlayStation 3 launch, which had only shipped one million consoles two months into it’s lifecycle. This means that in total, over 400 Million dollars have...
