Contrast is a brand new 2D/3D puzzle platformer being developed by Compulsion Games. Contrast has caught my eye for a myriad or reasons. Contrast is a world of both shadow and light, and it is within these varying landscapes that the core of the gameplay exists. You play as Dawn, a young woman who is described as the most visible yet unknown character in Contrast. Dawn will use her special talents to make use of the larger than life shadows to bring the games platforming...
As we saw in our initial preview of Mars: War Logs, the guilds who control the planets water supply have all the power. Now it’s time to take an in-depth look at the two most important, powerful and influential guilds the red planet has to offer. The Mars: War Logs guilds are going to play a large role not only in the surrounding world, but in our story as well. Our main character Roy is originally from one of the guilds and is imprisoned by the other, thus setting...
Mars: War Logs puts players into a tough situation on the red planet of Mars. We will be thrust into a power struggle of epic proportions and tasked with bringing peace to a world built on war. Numerous corporations are fighting for control of the planets water supply. Spider Studio and Focus Home Interactive have shown off the first screenshot for their upcoming title Bound By Flame, and while it is only a screenshot, it has me quite excited. Bound By Flame is an action/role-playing game starring a mercenary who has been possessed by a Flame Demon. Players will begin by customizing their characters gender and appearance before diving head first into this deep enthralling world. Fighting a battle of morality, our hero must decide...
Magrunner: Dark Pulse is the latest title from 3AM Games. The title features Dax Ward, who is a trainee in the Magtech training program for space exploration that is run by the Gruckezber Corporation. The program is designed to test the reflexes and brains of its candidates to see who can make the cut. During another routine training session all hell is unleashed as an ancient alien force ascends upon the training facility and upon Dax himself. Dax will have to use the...
Bound By Flame is a dark fantasy RPG coming this year to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from Spiders Studio and Focus Home Interactive. It has the moral compass leveling mechanic. You’re possessed by a flame demon and have to choose between accepting the demons control and gaining dark powers or reject it and become more heroic. Bound by Flame sounds very Fable-y, because the direction you choose, light or dark, will be reflected in your characters image. Choosing the side of...
When first loading up Of Orcs and Men I was caught by surprise to find out that I was going to be playing a queue based single player co-op game using two different characters. Using the main characters, I was tasked with switching back and forth and finding the right combinations that would help me stop dying and start dishing out punishment that my orc appeared more than capable of. The story follows a orc named Arkail and a goblin named Styx as they embark upon...
Releasing this week Of Orcs and Men will be doing for the games industry what so many have tried to do for the movie industry… pull off a decent “Buddy Story” With the varying abilities of the duo it seems that the buddy story goes beyond just the story as the 2 compliment each other on the battlefield as well. Arkail the might Orc is obviously a vicious brute using his sheer strength to draw the enemy attention and deal massive amounts of damage as Styx...
