Matt and I had the chance to get our hands on Nintendos latest addition to the Mario Bros. franchise, Super Mario 3D World, this past weekend at New York Comic Con 2013. While neither of us were able to use the gamepad during our play session, we both agreed that we loved the taste this game left in my mouth. During the short one level demo, I was given Princess Peach to play. From what I understand, each character has different speeds and abilities, with Peach being the...
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, may be a mouthful of a title but it looks like it’s going to be a handful of a game. I was able to snag a hands-on 15 minute demo on PS Vita as well as 3DS where I tracked Catwoman through the Gotham city skyline and walked away liking what I saw. Developed by Aramature Studio, a team comprising of former members of Retro Studios, Blackgate is an adventure that is it’s own entity. Not simply a gimped version of its console...
As their way of saying “Oops, my fault,” Rockstar Games are planning to deposit a total of $500,000 in beleaguered players’ virtual bank accounts. Coming after a brutal two weeks of lost characters, wiped progress, missing limbs and failed connections the makers of the record-setting Grand Theft Auto V are going to make amends with players who feel wronged by GTA Online’s shaky launch. Delivered in two deposits of $250,000, the compensation...
In an announcement today, Atlus has revealed that the much anticipated PS3/PS Vita Cross-Play patch is coming to American shores. The patch should arrive in the coming weeks and it will allow both PS3 and Vita players to team up on the epic looting runs that Dragon’s Crown is known for. This will add another layer to the already deep Action-RPG from developer Vanillaware.
I’m not one to say I told you so, but… Remember that Destiny beta we told you about last week? Well, Bungie confirmed it to the world a few days ago. Coming in “early Spring” of 2014, the beta is available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3. Access to the beta is granted by simply preordering the game at any participating retailer. For those of you who preordered on Amazon, your code will be emailed to you. Anyone who preordered at a...
Today I was walking around, minding my own business, when I stepped on something strange. Upon further inspection I found this strange item to be my jaw. It had fallen off after watching this new trailer for Pokemon X and Y which shows off another Mega Evolution for Charizard, Mega Charizard X. It may seem like a small thing, Mega Mewtwo X and Y were revealed just recently, but it opens up the floodgate of possibilities for Pokemon in general. If Mewtwo is not the only...
Bungie and the Official PlayStation Blog today revealed the box art for it’s upcoming game Destiny. Gone is the placeholder box art featuring the games mysterious traveler, and in its place is a new box pumped full of manly testosterone. The new cover shows each of our three types of heroes, the Titan, the Warlock, and the Hunter, each looking towards the traveler. The art style is done in a colorful and “poppy” style, which is a good departure from the...
Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Larry Hyrb, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson, has announced October’s Games with Gold offerings. October 1st will give Xbox Live gold members to download Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes for free. Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is an sidescrolling RPG and Puzzle-Adventure title that puts you in control of one of four different characters. You can expect a twenty-hour campaign, 1 versus 1 and 2 versus 2 combat...
Update: Looks like this is just about confirmed. The news page reveals the following in its page source code: “< div id=”atvi-text-569261” > <p>Pre-order Destiny at select retailers and receive admission to the Destiny Beta. Play it first. Become Legend.</p>” That seems to be confirmation as good as any. Judging by that, preordering Destiny will most definitely grant you beta access on your console of choice. It would be silly...
The Destiny fans over at Reddit have discovered something very interesting over on Destiny’s official website. Users of the website who tried to access the sites “news” page via an abnormal link were greeted with a broken, improperly formatted page, at the top of which shows a new link to a “Beta” page. The link, which is currently dead and points to nothing, appears to be an early sign that Bungie will be releasing a beta of the upcoming game...
