Like many others, I was overly excited when I discovered that one of my all time favorite titles was now available for handheld mobile devices. Terraria for iOS has arrived! Get your chargers out ladies and gentlemen, because your batteries are about to be tested and used like never before. If you have ever played Terraria on PC, XBLA, or PSN, then you should already understand how easy it is to lose countless hours playing this critically acclaimed, retro style, 2D...
In the first of three announcements that Valve is trotting out this week,”SteamOS’, a Linux based operating system was made public today, being touted as the answer to deliver Steam content to your home television. Valve,on their Steam website, declared that SteamOS, would “stream those games over your home network straight to your TV”. This OS will also be free, and will still include the bevy of features that Steam has made public over recent...
With the passing of Hiroshi Yamauchi last Thursday, Japan and video games as a whole lost a pioneering legend the likes of which will never be seen again. He was 85 and left an indelible legacy on the industry as a whole. Assuming control of Nintendo at the age of 22 in 1949 and serving as its President until 2002, Yamauchi took a small playing card manufacturer and eventually transformed it into a massive force in video games in the 80’s and 90’s. Although he...
Grand Theft Auto V, what most sources are citing as the most highly anticipated game of the year – and most likely the last game to receive this much hype for this console generation – has now been released. If you didn’t happen to preorder a copy, fret not! Amazon has plenty of copies to go around, and I guarantee you won’t want to miss out on this. Just head over to our lovely Amazon store and pick up a fresh copy. Or not, if that’s your...
Activision and Infinity Ward this week released their first trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts and its single player mode… and oddly enough, it excited me. I have to admit I haven’t been a fan of Call of Duty in recent years, ever since Black Ops I’ve felt very unimpressed and unexcited for new additions to the series that’s why when Acitivison sent me the press release for the new trailer, I didn’t even bother to open the email. I...
It looks like Microsoft has removed the ability to purchase games on Xbox.com without having a credit card added to the account. While previously those attempting to purchase even free items would be able to go through with the purchase, Xbox.com now prompts users to change their payment method. If you don’t have any credit cards or PayPal accounts on file, they can’t make the purchase. This also will disallow members to purchase items using purchased Microsoft...
Spiders Studio has been on quite the roll with their last two titles, and now it appears we will get to see the culmination of their skills all rolled into one game. The new Bound by Flame trailer is indeed all CG, but seeing the work that has been done in their last two titles I fully expect a few things from this title. I expect that the combat will be fun, fleshed out and challenging. I expect that the story will be something that you do not see with a lot of other indie...
With the Xbox One releasing November 22nd and the PlayStation 4 coming just a week before it, you’re now (hopefully) at the point where you’ve decided what Next-Generation console you’ll be getting first. If you’re reading this post, then I’m going to presume that you’ve decided to go with the Xbox One. Welcome aboard! You’re on your way to the next generation of gaming. But, now that you’ve got your console preordered...
It’s been quite a few months since Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One to us, and since that time, quite a lot has changed. This has left gamers more confused then informed. Let’s take a quick look back at the past couple months and see exactly what happened to the Xbox One and what Microsoft has done to fix it. May 21st will arguably be known as the darkest day in Microsoft’s history. On that day, Microsoft unveiled its brand new Xbox One, touting it as the...
I have to admit that I know very little about Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning returns. After this trailer I knew even less. What I can tell you is that these costumes change stats and abilities, similar to Final Fantasy X-2’s battle system. A lot of the details are not yet known on exactly how and what these costumes change exactly. You can bet though that I will be wearing that Cloud Strife costume as much as I can.
