Tecmo Koei has announced that it has an licensing agreement with Epic Games in order to develop Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z using Unreal Engine 3. Team NINJA is working with Keiji Inafune on Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z or Zombie Gaiden, as I will call it for now on.
Inafune says, “We couldn’t be happier to develop ‘YAIBA: NINJA GAIDEN Z’ on Unreal Engine 3. In the past I have been involved with numerous projects built upon Unreal Engine 3, so I understand its benefits and reliability. Unreal allows us to focus on making the game fun, and to push the boundaries of visuals and gameplay in the shortest time possible.”
Studio head of Team NINJA, Yosuke Hayashi, says that, “Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is not a sequel. It is a new experience for gamers.”
And that is unfortunately is for the info for now. A new Ninja Gaiden, Unreal Engine 3, Keiji Inafune and lots of zombies.
