Written by Raven Poplar

So you’re a gamer but you’re strapped this month, are you? Steam has a slew of F2P games, and more have come trundling along this week. Along with these additions to the library, we’re also getting sequels and new iterations of longstanding series!

Penny Arcade: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3

With a new look inspired by SNES-era RPGs, Penny Arcade brings us a slightly longer game than we’ve seen n the past.

The Startling Developments Detective Agency springs into action as On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 begins, set in motion by a call from a mysterious source. The ever escalating perils on the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness will season our tender heroes to their very core! Expect cunning evil doctors, a series of unexplainable thefts, a mysterious book of power, enigmatic supernatural forces, hoboids, roboids, time travelling dinosaurs, and more!

Dungeons & Dragons Online

The D&DO MMO is now free to play one Steam! It’s not a new game, but what F2P MMO is? With an art style derived from the 3rd Edition of the tabletop D&D game (and also using that ruleset) this game is nothing if not pretty.

Enter a world of danger and adventure with Dungeons & Dragons Online®, the free, award-winning, massively-multiplayer online game based on the beloved RPG that started it all.

Spec Ops: The Line

This AAA series brings us something a little different with The Line. Testing a player’s morality is a key mechanic in this game, that or it’s a gore-fest.

Spec Ops: The Line is a new original title from 2K Games that features provocative and gripping Third-Person modern military Shooter gameplay designed to challenge players’ morality by putting them in the middle of unspeakable situations where unimaginable choices affecting human life must be made.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

In Ghost Recon Future Soldier join an elite team of highly trained, cut-throat special-ops soldiers. Armed to the teeth with unrivalled combat technology and cutting-edge military hardware, Ghost Recon takes you to the globe’s most deadly warzones to hunt down the highest value targets.

Tribes: Ascend

A shooter with the heart of a vehicular combat game, you must master the art of “Skiing” with your rocketboots across the ground in order to stay competitive. This one is also Free to Play!

Tribes: Ascend is the world’s fastest shooter – a high-adrenaline, online multiplayer FPS with jetpacks, skiing, vehicles, and multiple classes. The classic shooter franchise Tribes has been played by well over 1 million people. With Tribes: Ascend, the franchise is reborn – fast-paced, vertical, acrobatic combat combined with class-based teamwork and stunning sci-fi visuals.

Dungeon Fighter Online

With a mix of styles, this recently updated, colourful, Free to Play, 2.5D walkabout beat ’em up also utilizes RPG elements. Will you join parties and take on the dungeons together or solo them for extra XP?

Join the adventure and battle beasts, demons, and more for the fate of Arad, an exotic world besieged by otherworldly threats. London 2012: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games

We all knew it was coming, the title says it all for this one. This is The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games, after all.

It’s the global stage where dreams are realised, heroes are made, and moments that will be remembered for years happen right before your eyes. Now you too can create your own moments with London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games.

And that’s all we’ve got for The Steamfeed this week. Maybe I should get around to finishing Precipice of Darkness 1 soon..

  • I am a huge fan of Dungeon Fighter Online and I asked around if anyone wanted to give it a shot but nobody did. I ended up playing myself for like 3 days straight and then quit til I could find more people to play.
