Telltale and Gearbox have just announced a new game coming in 2014, “Tales from the Borderlands”, a new episodic experience set in the Borderlands universe. The characters aren’t vault hunters, and the game will be very story driven. Announced at Spike’s VGX Awards, the trailer showed two “wanna-be vault hunters” talking to Marcus, who was telling them they aren’t vault hunters and want nothing to do with them.
Randy Pitchford commented saying that Telltale was doing all the developing, with Gearbox only being involved in giving them the “keys to the Borderlands universe.”
No word yet on an exact release date or specific consoles, but fingers are crossed for a next generation console release, and I’d be equally surprised if it didn’t come to us on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
