Non-Gaming Twitch Streams Disabled for PS4

Written by Matt Curione

In light of recent events involving the misuse of the Playstation 4’s Share feature, Twitch has decided to put the kibosh on all non-gaming related streams. This all goes along with Twitch’s Terms of Service, but since they weren’t being adhered to, Twitch has put out a release stating: “We continue to moderate according to our Terms of Service, non-gaming content is not allowed. Non-gaming content… If using PS4 Playroom, the content must be about games or gaming and within our ToS. Thanks for understanding.”

twitch-ps4This whole fiasco has stemmed from  a recent stream, reported by Kotaku where a man decided to strip his partner down to her birthday suit, something that did not go unnoticed by the streaming community. These types of incidents have happened before, though they were mostly restricted to the PC community where streaming can be a pricey endeavor for the average consumer. Now with PS4’s Twitch integration, it seems that any undesirable with $400 and a PS Camera can ruin the fun for all involved.

Streaming on Twitch via PS4 is insanely easy to do, so easy, even I can do it! To watch some SFW, weird streams, check out my channel here!
