Need for Speed Most Wanted gets Pre-order Bonuses

Written by Taryn Beach

The announcement at E3 that Criterion was developing the next Need for Speed game, and that the game was a remake of Most Wanted made me feel like a kid at Christmas.  With the premise of a completely open world environment in which friends can race each other and likely compete by building their bounty, I’m more excited for a Need for Speed game than I have been in quite a while.  In a recent press release, Electronic Arts announced some of the pre-order bonuses for Most Wanted.

Players that pre-order now will receive the Need for Speed Most Wanted Limited Edition which includes two early unlocked multiplayer cars: Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and Porsche 911 Carrera S.  While the press release does not get into more specifics, EA alludes to other bonuses being available for the Limited Edition.  Players that pre-order through EA’s Origin service and selected retailers will be able to unlock additional exclusive packs:

  • Speed Pack: The Caterham Superlight 500 in the exclusive Satin Black livery, featuring the Track Tyres Modification for improved road handling, and the Lightweight Chassis Modification allowing players to reach mesmerizing speeds.
  • Strike Pack: The Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black in the exclusive Satin Black livery, features the Power Pack Powertrain Modification for an engine tuned for torque, acceleration and the ability to reach breakneck speeds, and the Re-inflating Tyres Modification making it easier to survive and counter attempts to slow players down
  • Power Pack: The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor in the Satin Black livery, features the Reinforced Chassis Modification for taking increased damage, and the powers and violent Nitrous Dump Modification for making tight jumps and powered up takedowns.

Need for Speed Most Wanted is scheduled for a North American release of October 30, 2012 and a European release on November 1, 2012.  Have thoughts on EA and Criterion’s latest racer?  Let us know what you think in the comments below!
