Killzone Going Free To Play

Written by Chris Lock

The PlayStation BlogCast recently announced that Killzone Multiplayer would be going free to play. This Tuesday you will be able to download the multiplayer portion off the Playstation store.

The “full” game, including all the maps, will be playable. However, once you reach a certain level you will have to pay 15$ to continue growing your character. No word has been given as to what the level cap actually is. Even still, Killzone has a very robust multiplayer system and the community is still there to support it so 15$ is not that much for what you are getting.

What do you think? Will this Free To Play model prove beneficial for Killzone? Let us know in the comments.

  • Heh, the “first one’s free” sales model. A favourite with retailers who are confident in their…product.

  • I love a good multiplayer. I’ll definitely be checkin this out and if I enjoy it I will be spending the $15. I would actually love to see this model used more often.

  • This sounds more like a downloadale multiplayer game with the trial only lasting until a certain level, similar to what Gotham City Imposters did. But eh, they can slice it any way they want I suppose.
