Nintendo is catching up to Microsoft and Sony with its coming soon paid DLC for the Nintendo 3DS. The next update framework will allow developers to sell their add-on content whatever it may be and for either their physical or digital game. The anticipated update is due next month.
Reggie Fils-Aime told AOL Games that Nintendo is not willing to “sell a piece of a game upfront” with the notion of forcing the consumer to buy more later. He thinks the consumer wants a complete experience with the money they already dished out and if there are additional content available then Nintendo will make it available.
If this news is not full of win then I don’t know what is. Right direction, Nintendo!
