Europa Universalis IV Demo Available

Written by Matt Curione

Europa Universalis IV, the upcoming empire building sim from Paradox Interactive and Paradox Development Studio releases this upcoming Tuesday, August 13th. However, if you just can’t wait and are in the  conquering mood right now, a free demo has been made available via Steam.

The demo features a full tutorial to get you started and will last 28 in-game years; just enough time to get the hang of the Venice trade system, go to war as the Ottoman Empire or even engage in the political side of the spectrum with Austria. For demo purposes, save/load as well as multiplayer has been disabled.

Players will be able to create and share their mods for the final game with a single click, which should expedite the growth of the community. Also, a new feature for the series, cross-platform multiplayer matches, will make their debut. This will allow anyone playing, whether you’re on Windows, Mac or Linux to battle each other for the domination of the known world.

For fans of the Civilization series and the like, this looks to be a good time. The demo is available here.

Please check out the Europa Universalis IV pre-order trailer featured below to see just how an empire can be grown with the click of a button.
