The original Dead Island may me best known for its tear-jerking trailer, and subsequent disappointment upon not living up to that trailer. Well hopefully, Deep Silver did not make the same mistake twice, because the most recent trailer is kick ass.
I got a look at Dead Island Riptide last PAX Prime but did not see much beyond gameplay. It looked fine, with a couple cool additions, but nothing that would really change my opinion of the series. But judging from this new trailer it appears as though Riptide will have one thing Dead Island was severely lacking- story. Dead Island did have a story, used only to loosely explain a given fetch quest or scene change. But I digress, I am very hopeful for Riptide as it seems like they have taken what was a perfectly serviceable game, and raised it to potential greatness.
Riptide is due for release on April 23rd and will cost 50$ upon release.
