Red Wasp Designs have been very busy lately with their semi-recent release of the Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Lands tactical role-playing game on mobile platforms. They have kept a secret under their hats for too long and now it’s time for the world to know: Their recent release is currently being ported to PC! For those who don’t enjoy gaming on their smartphones, this turn-based translation of the classic pen and paper system, Call of Cthulhu, is finally available for you.

I’ve spent some time on the mobile version as well as the aforementioned tabletop RPG and can attest to The Wasted Lands’ faithfulness to the pnp formula (and difficulty.) I’m personally looking forward to seeing this game on a larger screen, and hope that all the little nuances of the game are kept and that translation to mouse-based controls is smooth and easy.

Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Lands will be launched May 5th on Intel’s AppUp shop, a move towards integrating mobile-style apps on Windows PCs.
