The weekend of March 5th – March 8th I had the extraordinary opportunity to sit down with a multitude of games. All of this week I will be putting up previews, news, and opinions on what I saw at Pax East 2015. I will be covering newly announced games like Gigantic, highly anticipated titles like Overwatch and the best ports to consoles at the show. My PAX East adventures started off with a bang when my editor-in-chief and I went to a pre-PAX community event with the...
We’re proud to announce the winners of our PAX East Game of Show Awards as well as our PAX East Editor’s Choice award. These games are those that stuck out the most to us out of the hundreds on the show floor, and are what we were most proud to get our hands on during the weekend. “For combining a wonderfully inviting art style, curiously addictive gameplay, and unique take on the MOBA genre, Gigantic takes this years PAX East crown. Be sure to check out...
I am not the type of person who laughs very often. Well, let me rephrase that. I am not the type of person who laughs at his television very often. The occasional chuckle, maybe, but if I’m not having a conversation with someone even getting a quickened breathe out of my nose is a rare occurrence. So why was my stomach erupting with deep, deep belly laughs on the show floor of Boston’s Convention Center? Something undoubtably hilarious must of been...
Behemoth, creators of such great games such as Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, and of course Battleblock Theater, are no strangers to hilarious comedy. This is a fact that I had forgotten until recently when a friend and I played through the final chapters of the hilarious co-op platforming puzzle romp Battleblock Theater (available both on Xbox 360 and Steam.) Upon completing the game you’re given one of the catchiest and most hilarious songs you’ll ever hear...
ll be honest with you, when I first started to play BattleBlock Theater I absolutely hated it. I’d expected a lot better from The Behemoth – creators of the best selling Xbox Live Arcade Game of all time Castle Crashers (second only to Minecraft) – and this game didn’t seem to be fulfilling it, aside from the infectious music at the beginning. Then I started to actually play it. Now, I’m ranked number one on the worldwide leaderboards and...
BattleBlock Theater, the next game from The Behemoth, creators of one of the all-time highest selling games on the Xbox Live Arcade Castle Crashers, has now been given a final release date of April 3rd. Releasing for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15 USD) on Xbox Live, this game is sure to be a hit from what we’ve seen at PAX and in the videos released so far. If you’ll be at PAX East these coming weeks they’ll be showing off the game as well as holding a tournament at...
The Behemoth released the release window for its upcoming game BattleBlock theater today by use of a nifty sea shanty. The guard did growleth as he pushed us out, Catnip stanking up each breath. “Your turn has come at last,” he mewed, His eyes aglow with death. In leaps and bounds, the course was run; We gave it every ounce of heart. So silently, the audience sat enrapt, That thou couldst hear a kitten fart. But when we came to that final jump Promising freedom from my...
