This weeks Watch This Wednesday is a bit more meta than usual. See, a few months ago I got to speak with Major Nelson at PAX East. This wasn’t our first time meeting, I just happened to see him on the sidelines and figured I’d get a good picture. Apparently the internet wasn’t a fan. Check out the video below and you’ll see what I mean. If there’s two things I pride myself on, it’s being a goofball and not caring what others think: this...
Last week we brought you the oddity that was the Mohawk Grenade, this week we’re going to step it up a notch. Back in 2010, Kotaku gave the world a great gift to celebrate the new decade: autotuned video games. From the Night Elf Mohawk, Mr T, to the Mushroom Kingdom’s Star Plumber, and all the way down to the slums of Liberty City, we have some wonderful singers. Check out the video below and you’ll understand why I still watch this video five years...
This weeks Watch This gives us some very, very odd feelings. Remember back in 2010 when Blizzard thought putting Mr. T in World of Warcraft through the use of Mohawk Grenades was a good idea? Yeah. Unfortunately we do too. These commercials are some of the most bizarre gaming adverts we’ve seen at any time, and we’re not sure if we’ll ever be as confused as we were back then.
Banjo-Kazooie has always been my favorite game series, ever since I unwrapped my Banjo-Toole Nintendo 64 bundle some fifteen years ago on Christmas of 2000, I’ve been in love. Two years ago, the genius’ over at Did You Know Gaming released a Did you know of Banjo-Kazooie; and, after this much time passing I think we could all use a refresher. Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments.
Behemoth, creators of such great games such as Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, and of course Battleblock Theater, are no strangers to hilarious comedy. This is a fact that I had forgotten until recently when a friend and I played through the final chapters of the hilarious co-op platforming puzzle romp Battleblock Theater (available both on Xbox 360 and Steam.) Upon completing the game you’re given one of the catchiest and most hilarious songs you’ll ever hear...
Dragonball has always been full of stupidity. Whether it’s characters yelling for a solid half hour or a 10 minute story taking 6 weeks to finish. So it should come at no surprise that this trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z is crazy and stupid. The announcer is what makes this trailer though, he is so excited about the potential for online co-op, and he nearly messes his pants over menus. It’s had not to be infected by his extreme excitement though.
This remake of the phenomenal Super Hexagon, names Micro Hexagon, was ported to the Commodore 64 as part of the 2nd RGCD C64 Cartridge Development Competition. A competition which challenges you to create a functional Commodore 64 game within 6 months. More detailed info can be found here. The video shows that this is a pretty faithful recreation, though fans of Super Hexagon may recognize several missing patterns. One thing it definitely nails is the music. Actually, I...
So you want to be the very best, like no one ever was? Well tough, because everyone is better at Pokemon X and Y than you. Their team is stronger, faster, and flat out cooler than yours. Want to know why? Because they EV train, IV breed, and catch those sweet sweet shinies. So how do you get shiny super Pokemon? Well, the methods are pretty simple, if just a bit time consuming. The best video guides I have found, that are also directly concerning X and Y are by...
This weeks Watch This Wednesday is kind of a long one, but it’s definitely worth it. If you don’t already know, The Angry Video Game Nerd is one of the best series on the internet, and you should definitely give him some views over at Cinemassacre, but, for now, just sit down and watch this episode all about Schwarzenegger based games. It’s a knee slapping, side splitting adventure.
Another highlight for Watch This Wednesday this week, this time taking the Beatles strategy and applying it to Mario – not to say they don’t do this in all their videos, they do, and you should watch all of them if you get the chance. Give this hilarious skit a chance and be sure your boss doesn’t see it laughing it up.
