This is the trailer shown at the end of the most recent Nintendo Direct. It shows off and reveals the new characters Charizard and Geninja for Super Smash Brothers. Super Smash Brothers for 3DS will be released Summer 2014. The Wii U version will be released shortly after in Winter of 2014. The video itself is in Japanese, but you can probably suss it out. More detailed information and screenshots can be found here.
Having recently completed Dark Souls my hype glands are working overtime for Dark Souls 2. From Software captured lightning in a bottle twice and seems well on their way to doing it once more. But until its release we must feed on souls, er, trailers in order to satiate our dark desires. So enjoy the Dark Souls 2 Prologue 1 trailer. Judging by the title I assume there will be another very soon. Gamers who pre-order the game will be upgraded to the Black Armor Edition which...
I adore horror games. Well, I say adore but what I really mean is that I hate every second of playing them but then months later I remember them fondly. My absolute favorite series was Dead Space, with its tight corridors and twisted necromorphs. What really drove the horror in Dead Space home though was the isolation. You were in space and, if I may rip the back of the box tagline “There’s No Help Coming.” Knowing that you were alone and that no one is...
I have to admit that I know very little about Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning returns. After this trailer I knew even less. What I can tell you is that these costumes change stats and abilities, similar to Final Fantasy X-2’s battle system. A lot of the details are not yet known on exactly how and what these costumes change exactly. You can bet though that I will be wearing that Cloud Strife costume as much as I can.
When Pokemon X and Pokemon Y were announced my excitement for the series took a nose dive. It basically boiled down to the devastatingly mundane look of the Legendaries. Seriously? We already have 2 legendary deer, their names are Cobalion and Virizion Did you just forget about them, GameFreak? But I digress, as my love for the game instantly shot up with the reveal of Mega Pokemon. Or rather, that a metric butt-load of Pokemon can achieve the Mega Evolution state. This...
“Give me four seconds and a clear signal and I’ll be in, and you’ll never know, but hell, I want you to know”. A man is going into a swanky night club, then down into the basement. “I’ve made mistakes, hurt people I love, all because of men like you.”. This looks like Joseph DeMarco, the one who “Died” last year. Adrian entered the room and took out all of the bad guys with various weapons, then turned on the sprinkler...
In extremely exciting E3 news, the game loved around the whole entire world, Minecraft, was announced for Xbox One.
At PAX East this year Volition showed off Saint’s Row 4. But not everyone could attend, so the gameplay demo has been released with commentary. Several things are shown off including the Zen, a monster truck, and my personal favorite, the Dubstep Gun. I am a bit worried as to how much of Saint’s Row 4 is being shown. Part of the fun of Saint’s Row 3 was the constant surprise. Diving down a rabbit hole of escalating silliness is why I loved that game so...
Guacamelee’s release looms ever nearer, casting a shadow of anticipation over my beating heart. Thankfully Drinkbox finally announced that my expectant vigil will soon be over. Guacamelee will be released April 9th in the U.S. for PS Vita and PS3. Guacamelee is a Metroidvania style game set within a Mexican art style. You play as a luchador, or luchadora, swapping between the living and dead dimensions while beating up baddies. There is much more to the game but that...
The new “Pax East” trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix shows off many things that, even if your KH knowledge is remote, should seem quite familiar. Recognizable characters and scenes all look great in their HD skins, but something is wrong, very wrong. When the collection was first announced I was under the impression that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days would be included on the disc. I am sad to report that I was mistaken. Instead 358/2 Days will only be featured as HD...
