PAX: Hands On With Gears of War Judgement

Leading up to PAX there were a few things I had set in stone that I needed to accomplish; Play Halo 4, meet Cliff Bleszinski, and play Gears of War Judgment. By noon on Sunday I had yet to accomplish the final of those three. I set out to the giant Gears of War Judgment stand and made my way through the line, sitting down at the final booth on the right. We were playing the newly unveiled Free-for-All game mode on an all new map set high atop a mountain centered around a...

F’in Saved 8: The Next Generation of F’in Saved

People have joked about this for a very long time but I never really understood it. That was until I was looking for a picture of Raiden to post in association with a Metal Gear Rising video. The difference between Rising’s Raiden and MGS4’s Raiden are night and brown. Thankfully Rising is lacking the “brown filter” apparent in MGS4. Hopefully this trend continues in more games and we see the rest of the spectrum used. Oh and this is a joke...

F’in Saved 8: Of The Blade

Sometimes the parameters at which I allow myself to operate in can by quite a hindrance. For example, the Retro Lancer you see in the last panel. For the sake of consistency all of the characters are created in a 30X30 square. This makes sure that the same amount of detail is carried throughout, unless I make a panel dedicated to a closeup of a character or action. This also makes it hard to create smaller detailed items, such as the Retro Lancer, and therefore harder to...

This trailer shows us the new (or old, depending on how you look at it) Colonel as he condemns Kilo Squad to imprisonment for Desertion, Cowardice, the Theft of Experimental...

The latest cover of GameInformer has just been put online and appears to show Marcus in handcuffs being escorted into “The Slab” prison where he was put after abandoning his post during the Pendulum Wars. This comes after months of rumors that point this title to being developed by Epic-owned Swedish Developer People Can Fly as well as having some sort of Kinect Integration. We’ll be sure to update when the magazine hits mailboxes, and be looking to the...

Lazy Impressions: Gears of War

I’ve gotten Gears of War for the Xbox 360 recently. Not the new one, but the oldest version you can possibly buy on the free market: Gears of War 1. This is a pattern with me, I will overlook a series until it comes full circle and joins the halls of the great trilogies, then I will recognize the series as something worth checking out, and finally begin the descent into whichever universe has captured my attention. I mostly attribute this phenomenon to my general...
