Pokemon X and Pokemon Y have been Revealed for Nintendo 3DS

Written by Adam Shear

Today, Nintendo took the opportunity to unveil the next generation of Pokemon for Nintendo 3DS: Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.  This is the sixth generation of Pokemon, not a remake of any kind.

From the trailer, the most noticeable new features are the new 3D graphics in both world exploration and battles.  Battles look a bit cartoony, but really fit the Pokemon series well.

Five new Pokemon were revealed including the three starters which are still grass, fire and water as well as the two legendary Pokemon that will presumably be on the boxes of the games.

The best part is that you won’t have to wait for the game to be localized.  Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will be the first Pokemon games ever to have a simultaneous worldwide release in October 2013.

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata also confirmed that the new games will feature both new and old Pokemon and take advantage of the Nintendo 3DS’s wireless functions such as Streetpass and Spotpass.

Of course, there’s nothing like seeing it for yourself.  Watch the video below and let us know what you think.
