Last week I made the prediction that women’s Bantamweight champ, Ronda Rousey, would be the first female MMA fighter to take the cover of a UFC game and I was wrong. Light Heavyweight champ Jon Jones has taken the cover. A video was posted today on EA Sports UFC Facebook page, with Jon Jones confirming he will be gracing the cover. EA Sports also revealed that another athlete will be on the cover with Jon Jones and that the fans will be able to choose. EA Sports UFC...
Like many others I have been a long time fan of the Madden football series. It has provided a chance for children and adults alike to live out their gridiron dreams and bring our favorite teams to the pinnacle of sports. For those of us who have been loyal fans of the series we have seen a disturbing trend over the past few years. There has been less and less added to the series, and more and more it seems like each new iteration is just a glorified roster update. I have...
World of Tanks for Xbox 360 was originally announced back a few months ago at Microsoft’s E3 conference. It wasn’t anything amazing – a quick trailer played, someone from Wargaming.net came on stage to tell us about how exciting this was, and that was it. I’ll admit – I didn’t expect much. I signed up for the beta when it first went live – again, not expecting much, just hoping I would get in for the bragging rights. I was accepted in the first wave. I...

Noire. Let’s not waste time discussing gameplay techniques, instead, let’s get right to the...

Austin and I got some hands on time with Namco Bandai’s upcoming death simulator Dark Souls II and I for one couldn’t get enough of it. This new entry in the Souls series looks to have everything people loved about both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls combined, along with a few new tricks up its sleeve. I decided to play my demo using the Warrior class that’s been prominent in the games’ advertising this far, think the Knight from Dark Souls and...
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the new spiritual successor to the SNES classic A Link To The Past, was on display at NYCC 2013 and from the preview on display, it’s going to be a fun time. A mix of new school graphics and gameplay enhancements and the classic Zelda top-down perspective, Link Between Worlds doesn’t come across as a revolutionary title but it certainly seems like a lot of fun. I was able to traverse Hyrule field like always but this time...
Usually when these kinds of stories pop up and can care less. I don’t care who will be on the cover of the next Madden or 2K NHL game, because I don’t care for those sports. I understand now how some players can care now that this type of story has to do with a sport I care immensely about, MMA. With EA Sports taking over the UFC franchise and launching their first title this spring, they posted this morning on the EA Sports website that the reveal of the cover...

Over the past three years publishers’ sales expectations for their projects have risen dramatically. Games like Dead Space 3, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and Tomb Raider all carried a heavy burden to sell millions upon millions of copies to be considered a success. By all accounts, these three games have been critically acclaimed and are worthy of a purchase yet some in the industry look upon their sales numbers as failures. It is no secret that the cost to...
