Apparently we have more Gears of War coming our way. Recently Rod Fergusson tweeted that, unfortunately, there will be no collection centered around Marcus Fenix coming anytime soon. Although, he did mention that in fact Black Tusk is working on other Gears of War projects, plural. I love the passion, but there’s no Marcus Fenix Collection. We ARE working on other exciting Gears projects. I’ll see you at E3! — Rod Fergusson (@GearsViking) March 19, 2015 Kind of...

Ori and the Blind Forest is a rare treat, something we don’t much see in the game industry. Hailing as a metroid-vania style side scrolling platformer game, Ori puts you in control of, well, Ori. A white guardian spirit who has fallen from the spirit tree, Ori is accompanied by the Sein, the games equivalent to Zelda’s Navi. After starting up Ori, I was more drawn in to the games beautiful story then I have been with many other games, truthfully brought to...

If you were anywhere last PAX East, you were at the Star Citizen live event, or at least watching it. No, I’m not talking about this years expo, I am talking about PAX East 2014. You know the one, loud drunk guys yelling at Chris Roberts to fly into the earth mining lasers. Yeah, that live event! How could you forget? If you are anything into the idea of space simulators and the fact you can explore space like I am, you are super stoked for this game. If you are super...
Smite is a wonderful MOBA, that’s not what I’m here to talk about. The mechanics, as they stand, are identical to that of the PC counterpart that has been available for quite some time. What we’re here to discuss is how a MOBA is able to work itself in to the console market. Given Smite’s unique third-person over the shoulder camera angle, it is very obvious a good fit for the console, but getting down the controls, fluidity, and complicated gameplay...

Friday afternoon, Austin and I left PAX and attended Adr1ft’s screening hosted by IGN. I want to emphasize the fact that it was a “screening”. Thanks to IGN and 505 games we were treated to viewing the current Adr1ft trailer and gameplay in a full sized movie theater! The sound quality – amplified in the movie theater – was astonishing. After hearing the projects that the some of the team members were a part of prior to working on this game...
