Late last night Microsoft and 343 Industries released a new trailer for Halo 5: Guardians, which also happens to be the games introductory scene. While it is unrepresentative of game play (partly, anyway), it does feature Spartans doing what they do best: Dominate. The scene first showcases the mission’s objective: find and safely return Dr. Catherine Halsey, creator of the Spartan II program and overall human scientific asset. For those that remember their history...
Did you know Marcus Fenix’s last name grew out of Cliff Bleszinksi’s complete loss in his failed first marriage, thus making Gears of War his rise from the ashes? What about the fact that the picture of Dom and Maria from the Gears 2 Special Edition being based on Cliff and his girlfriend at the time? You definitely didn’t know that before pitching Gears of War to Microsoft Cliff did pushups in his hotel room and listened to “Lose Yourself” by...
Nearly fifteen years ago the gaming gods over at Rareware (now known simply as Rare) graced us with a masterpiece of a title: Banjo-Tooie. A sequel to 1998’s Banjo-Kazooie, Tooie took everything up to eleven. Featuring a humongous overworld littered with equally as expansive underworlds, Banjo-Tooie kept gamers playing for hours and hours. Tooie was also, believe it or not, my first ever console video game. Early on Christmas of 2000 Old Saint Nick blessed me with the...

I’m a pretty big Just Cause fan, and every time another trailer for Just Cause 3 shows up, I only get more excited for the game. Today, The folks over at Square Enix released an interactive demonstration of the game’s freedom of movement, driving, and destruction with a choose-your-own-adventure style YouTube video. I’ve watched the sequence three times so far choosing different options, and every tool at Rico Rodriguez’s disposal looks more fun than...
Editor’s Note: et’s be honest here, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt came out 2 months ago. Between that time and now, we had yet to release a review of how we felt of The Witcher Wild Hunt and why you should spend your hard earned money on it. It comes to question, how can you review a game that provides hundreds of hours of content and storyline a week before it comes out? It’s simple, you cannot. You can review the graphics, the musical score, the first...
Adding to the growing number of fancy collector’s packages that will be assaulting my bank account this year comes what may be the most thoughtful, if not expensive, collectors’s edition yet. EA and DICE have revealed their plans for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’s collector’s content. Aside from the typical steelbook and artwork content these collector’s packages have, the edition also includes an interesting statue that features the main...
The folks over at Square Enix have detailed some of the extra goodies coming in the collector’s edition of Just Cause 3 coming out this holiday season. Like many other collector’s editions, Just Cause 3 offers fans a replica item taken straight from the game. Of course that means a replica of the grappling hook will adorn gamer’s shelves, but that’s not all it comes with. The 15-inch replica grapple is accompanied by a large map of Medici, the 400...
