NCIS, it’s happening

Written by Quaisha T

Developers seems to be targeting television crime dramas for original IPs in recent times. CSI became a success with its social game on Facebook but not so much on consoles and handhelds. Now CBS and Ubisoft wants to take a stab at releasing a multi-platform puzzle-strategy based on the hit series NCIS (Navel Crime Investigative Service).

The NCIS series revolves around a fictional team of special agents, which conducts criminal investigations involving U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The show was actually a spin-off of JAG and now has its own spin-off, NCIS: Los Angeles. I’m a fan of the original NCIS though I can never fault the good-looking and smooth licking LL Cool J.

In the game counterpart, a player can choose characters from the series to search for clues to solve murders, espionage and terrorist cases. Though I would use the term “terrorist” loosely. Unlike other failed TV crime drama based games, NCIS is written by the original writers for the series featuring four original episodes.

The playable characters include special agents McGee and Gibbs, and agents Ziva David, Tony DiNozzo, Abby Sciuto, and Ducky Mallard. Players can use each of their unique talents to solve cases.

Though it’s no L.A. Noire, the character detail is still bland if only viewing the trailer. See for yourself:
