Larian Studios has announced the next game in the Divinity series and are claiming it to be the mother of all RPGs, which is quite a statement in this day in age. The game follows 2 main characters as they attempt to save the free nations of Rivellon from the incoming invasion from the Orcs of Tanoroth. One of our heroes is a warrior once condemned and the other a mysterious heroine who’s been restored to life. The game has a long list of features which include the following:
- 2 lead characters
- Class free character development
- The ability to summon and recruit other creatures and characters into your party
- A large and dense world filled with quests memorable moments and NPCs
- The ability to interact and combine any of the worlds items
- The freedom to make multiple choices and watch the consequences unfold
- Turn based combat
- Skill and spell combos
- Exploitable environments for use during combat
- Cooperative skills and spells
- Multiplayer Co-op
- Cooperative dialogue system
- A toolset that will allow the community to build their own adventures
- Award winning composer Kirill Pokrovsky
Original Sin is set to release on PC in early 2013
its being called a prequel… not sure why they would stray from their current combat system.
Turn based combat? That seems surprising, considering that the last one was more of an action RPG. Unless this game is meant to be some kind of spin-off of the main series?
