Watch this Wednesday – The Mohawk Grenade Autotuned

Last week we brought you the oddity that was the Mohawk Grenade, this week we’re going to step it up a notch. Back in 2010, Kotaku gave the world a great gift to celebrate the new decade: autotuned video games. From the Night Elf Mohawk, Mr T, to the Mushroom Kingdom’s Star Plumber, and all the way down to the slums of Liberty City, we have some wonderful singers. Check out the video below and you’ll understand why I still watch this video five years...

Watch this Wednesday – How do you ‘splain the Mohawk Grenade?

This weeks Watch This gives us some very, very odd feelings. Remember back in 2010 when Blizzard thought putting Mr. T in World of Warcraft through the use of Mohawk Grenades was a good idea? Yeah. Unfortunately we do too. These commercials are some of the most bizarre gaming adverts we’ve seen at any time, and we’re not sure if we’ll ever be as confused as we were back then.

20 Questions with EA’s Dan Sheridan

This weeks 20 Questions will be with Dan Sheridan (EA UK Marketing Battlefield, BioWare, Need for Speed & Titanfall) @EA_ActionMan.  Thoughts of the competition between the UK and the USA— police procedures, living standards, video games, laws, all crossed my mind.  I read numerous articles on the all the aforementioned items and found it all quite boring. What I did find very interesting was that while United Kingdom and Canada continue to give tax breaks to game...

Watch this Wednesday – Did you know Banjo?

Banjo-Kazooie has always been my favorite game series, ever since I unwrapped my Banjo-Toole Nintendo 64 bundle some fifteen years ago on Christmas of 2000, I’ve been in love. Check out the video below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Microsoft HoloLens: What Is Real?

A few days ago Microsoft became cool again with the many surprises unveiled at the Windows 10 Event. The biggest surprise was definitely the announcement of the Windows Holographic project, Microsoft HoloLens. Microsoft’s proprietary addition to the head-mounted display industry could prove to be a revolutionary step forward. The HoloLens is the culmination of Kinect-like voice commands, IllumiRoom-like projection, and Oculus-like head mounted-ness. With the...

Evolve is a great game – if your friends think so

Evolve is the upcoming multiplayer first person shooter title from Turtle Rock Studio, the team behind the Left 4 Dead series gamers have come to know and love. The premise is simple: four players or “hunters” are tasked with hunting down a huge disastrous monster before the player in charge of the monster eats enough wild life to become powerful enough to destroy the hunter’s base or kill all four hunters. It plays as a sort of backwards cat-and-mouse type...

Giving Up Gaming 5 – Your Cool Uncle

So, let’s rap. If I were a cool uncle (I’m an uncle, just not a cool one) I’d pull a chair up and sit on it backwards. Let’s talk about how uncle is maybe not the best person. In my last post I went on a tirade, a weird one. If social media has taught me one thing, it’s that you put your best foot forward on the internet. It’s a highlight reel of your life, most times. This… this is not that. This series for me is not a highlight...

Watch this Wednesday – Buckle your pants!

Behemoth, creators of such great games such as Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, and of course Battleblock Theater, are no strangers to hilarious comedy. This is a fact that I had forgotten until recently when a friend and I played through the final chapters of the hilarious co-op platforming puzzle romp Battleblock Theater (available both on Xbox 360 and Steam.) Upon completing the game you’re given one of the catchiest and most hilarious songs you’ll ever hear...
