Batman Arkham Knight Is Coming, Rocksteady to Develop

Written by Kenny Rioux

Welcome back Rocksteady, tis indeed been a long while. With the next generation of consoles in full swing, Warner Brothers announced today that Batman:Arkham Knight is currently in development, with developer Rocksteady returning to deliver the Dark Knight to the screens of PS4, Xbox One and PC owners. Here’s a press release via the Playstation Blog.

“Today, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment are announcing Batman: Arkham Knight, Rocksteady Studios’ conclusion to the series of award-winning titles Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Batman: Arkham Knight is based on DC Comics’ core Batman license and is scheduled to be released worldwide on PS4 in 2014.

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city that he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise.”

Now no announcement of this scope wouldn’t be complete without a teaser to give a glimpse of what Bruce Wayne, Gotham and the evil denizens that are looking to deal some damage to both, and boy is there some horsepower making this look fantastic.

I admit I did not play Arkham Origins, but I am very stoked for this one, because A) I like Batman, and B) I like Rocksteady made Batman stuff. You guys ready to don the cowl again or what? If you are so inclined, go check out the game’s site.
