Xbox One Becomes Xbox 180 With Removal of DRM

It appears the loud minority we call the internet has not fallen on deaf ears, Microsoft today announced it will be taking a step back with it’s once every 24 hours internet check in, but at a cost. Coming with the removal of a 24 hour check to play games is the removal of two of the most compelling features the console had: the ability to share your games with up to ten “family members” in a shared library, and the ability to play your disc games on any...

Is Xbox.com Telling Us The Xbox One’s Release Date?

We’ve heard approximations concerning the Xbox One’s release date, and even official confirmation of it coming to us this November, but we may now an actual release date, accidentally coming straight from Microsoft themselves. If you head over to Xbox.com, you’ll be greeted with a slider of ads. One in particular, the Call of Duty: Ghosts ad, when opened up shows that Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Xbox One will be releasing on November 5th. I’m no games...

Has 4chan Cracked SuperDAE’s Insurance Torrent? [Update: Nope]

It looks like the anonymous men and woman over at 4Chans /v/ video gaming board are claiming to have found the key to SuperDAE’s Insurance Torrent. According to their brilliant minds, the password for DAE’s encrypted 1.8 terabyte file is “y8e4a4r@w9o0o#dtrance”, and while no one currently has the file to try it out since it went down shortly after going live, we have no way of independently confirming it. If this is infact true, then the gaming...

Did GameStop Just Tell Us Destiny’s Release Date?

Just spotted on the GameStop pages for Destiny was an actual date for Destiny’s, not just the simple placeholder we’ve been seeing. It looks like Bungie’s gamechanging open-world FPS may be coming to us earlier then expected. June 30th, 2014. This makes sense, if you think about it. Getting the game into gamers hands before the annual Call of Duty will give Bungie a leg up with their new IP, while still ensuring it’s available when the holiday season...

Fez 2 In Development

Fez 2, what will obviously be the sequel to my Game of the Year 2012, has just been announced at this years E3 conference. Hopefully, even with Phil Fish’s undying hatred of the Xbox One, it will still make it to the Xbox One. Fingers crossed.

Til Death Do We Part – The Halo: Reach Challenge Initiative Closes Its Doors

Three years ago, I found out about an idea. A genius idea that I was surprised no one had thought of yet: a website that allows you to view and help people with Halo: Reach’s in game challenges. Designed, coded, and made completely from the ground up the Halo: Reach Challenge Initiative, or HRCI for short, is just that. A service that allows you to comment on different strategies for honing in on each days daily challenges. Two years ago, HRCI opened up from its public...

Give Me Destiny or Give Me Death

Yesterday Bungie unveiled what was our first look at gameplay for it’s upcoming game Destiny. If you don’t already know, Destiny is a constant world sci-fi shooter that takes place in a future where Earth was wiped almost completely clean of human life. You are a guardian, one of the last great powers of your world. When Bungie lifted the veil on Destiny’s gameplay, they lifted the veil on five years of development time. Bungie began work on Destiny back in...

The PlayStation 4 Requires PlayStation Plus to Play Online

Well, this is pretty funny. One of the biggest call-to-arms of the PlayStation 3/4 is it’s free to play online, but now it’s been confirmed that you must have purchased a $50 subscription to PlayStation Plus in order to use the online gaming features of the PlayStation 4. “PS4 gamers who aren’t Plus members can still enjoy single-player games for free…and access to media services won’t require Plus” — PlayStation (@PlayStation) June 11...

Watch Dogs is the Game to Beat This Holiday Season

Sony showed off more Watch Dogs gameplay at their 2013 E3 Press Conference, and simply put: it’s the game to beat this year. Jumping from camera to camera, helping your friend t-bone escape the police all from the comfortably of your car, evading the police, then, just when you think the police have caught you as a helicopter hovers above you, you can request mobile help and a friend on an iPad can hack into Chicago and black out its computer systems. Ubisoft really...

Sony Unveils The Dark Sorcerer

Sony announced today “The Dark Sorcerer” for the PlayStation 4. Looking beautiful in engine, this game looks very demonic. A little green yoda looking goblin, a pentagram. Maybe not. They just cut away to reveal that it was actually someone shooting a movie. Turns out it looks like it’s gonna be a funny game, not a seriously dark one. Kind of a bummer.
