The Xbox One launch day fun is only hours from beginning first in New Zealand and continue for the next 24 hours. Each nation will open their retailer doors to the public at the stroke of 12:01 am in their country. Starting first with New Zealand and then in order of official launch times; Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom, South America and finally, North America.
An hour before the launch happens in North America, Spike TV, Spike.com, Xbox Live and Xbox.com will be streaming the live launch events in Times Square and LA. Launch events will also be taking place at every Microsoft Store in America. Jeff Rubenstein said via Major Nelson’s Blog about the launch events:
In the U.S., the ultimate midnight celebration will take place in Times Square in New York City. The world of Xbox One will come to life as zombies, Roman soldiers and supercars converge on the Best Buy Theater, where awaiting fans will be among the first in America to receive their consoles and countdown to midnight with great games, entertainment and special surprises. This is also place to come if you didn’t pre-order; we’ve got a couple thousand Xbox One systems for sale!
On the west coast, Xbox fans in Los Angeles are invited to make history at Milk Studios, which will be transformed into a gamer haven, with gameplay stations for Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, and other Xbox One game titles. Fans will countdown to midnight amidst killer games, entertainment and special surprises. The first 500 people to purchase an Xbox One or Xbox One game will enjoy an exclusive concert with deadmau5.
