The Sims 4 – Coming 2014

Written by Austin Griffith

EA Announced The Sims 4 in a conference call today with various Sim fan sites as well as investors.

“The Sims franchise is fueled by the passion and creativity of its millions of fans around the world,” the announcement post reads. “Their continued devotion to the franchise ignites the fire of creativity of the team at The Sims Studio, driving them to continually improve and innovate on one of the world’s most successful simulation game that has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide.”

It’s unclear why EA would announce The Sims 4 so quickly after releasing new content, because really, who wants to buy a new Sims when you’ve just finished dumping money into new expansions, but it must be working.

Another Sims fan site, TheSimsHub, has also released a statement from EA regarding the always-online nature of Sim City’s relation to The Sims 4 (bolding mine, not EA’s).

“The Sims 4 celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience,” the post reads. “The Sims 4 encourages players to personalize their world with new and intuitive tools while offering them the ability to effortlessly share their creativity with friends and fans.”

Could this be EA actually learning from their mistake with Maxis? We can hope. Either way, we’re sure to see more information on The Sims 4 later today. Keep your eyes peeled to LevelSave.com as well as TheSims4.com for more information as it breaks.
