Activision announced that at this years North American International Toy Fair they would be showing of some new Skylander characters. Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure was released last year and has since taken the toy market by storm. Each new character for the game must be purchased separately by buying an actual model of said character. The model is them placed on the “Portal of Power” and like magic your character appears in the game. The game and characters have been flying off shelves and Activision is not done releasing new ones yet.
Eight new characters are going to be released for the game as well as some other interesting add-ons. Giant characters, aptly named Skylanders Giants, will be not only twice the size in their toy form but twice as big in the game as well. Skylanders Giants will have a power increase as well to demonstrate their new size. There will also be a special kind of Skylander that have lights that illuminate when on or near the Portal, no batteries required. The light up versions will also have increased and augmented stats to reflect their non-virtual counterparts. Lastly new maps, modes, and challenges are coming to the Skylanders game.
My suggestion, buy as many as you can as quick as you can. These new toys are sure to be gone as soon as they hit the shelves.
