Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus Announced For Holiday Release

Written by Branden Wilson

Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus 2Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus was announced this week by Insomniac Games. It has been a while since fans of the series have had a full-fledged single player title from one of the most beloved platformers in gaming history. The best part of the new title is that it is coming exclusively to Playstation Network for the low cost of $29.99. While this might worry some of the more hardcore fans in the series, the games trailer shows that Insomniac is giving this installment the attention a true Ratchet & Clank title deserves. With the entire cast back for their latest adventure we see that this dynamic duo will have all new gravity defying tools at their disposal to tackle some of the toughest levels and puzzles in the history of the series. With some new additions and gameplay elements this could be just the title to wake the series from the disappointment of the last two releases. Neither All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault were as successful as the team probably hoped and that can be traced to the distinct deviation from the core of the series. Coming back to their roots and developing a new Ratchet & Clank single player experience could be just what the team needs to get Ratchet back into the gaming forefront.

James Stevenson, the Community Lead at Insomniac Games recently stated in a Playstation Blog Post

We’re excited to announce that Ratchet and Clank are returning this year with an all new original single-player epilogue to the Future games. Under the creative direction of Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time creative director Brian Allgeier, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is a story-driven platform adventure, with the humor and heart that make the franchise so beloved.

As you can see from the trailer, Into the Nexus has a bunch of crazy new weapons and gadgets. Gravity is one of the themes of Into the Nexus: you’ll experience zero-g space, you’ll use gravity-defying new gadgets, and you’ll manipulate gravity to solve brand new Clank puzzles.
