Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Coming This Holiday

Written by Chris Lock

Ratchet & Clank is coming back, in a manner of speaking. Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is going to debut on PSN “holiday” according to a post on Playstation Blog. The game will not be a full fledged title but rather something akin to, Quest for Booty. Which is to say that it will be a shorter, more compact version of a Ratchet & Clank game. There was also mention of the “classic third-person camera” from previous games. Even though I have played every R&C game, with the exception of the most recent installment, this whole camera business is totally lost on me. Was that really an issue?

The post also speaks of some sort of multiplayer features. I for one am hoping that these features are a sort of CTF mode like the one present in R&C:Up Your Arsenal. Even though I was never cool enough to have the network adapter for PS2 so I could actually play that game online the setup showed some promise.

After the lackluster reception of the previous R&C one would wonder if the franchise might continue down the downloadable road. I personally was more impressed with Quest for Booty than the other two proper titles. It just seemed as though the smaller reward cycle and concentration of ideas really made the mini-game shine. Of course, I can not even remember when the camera was changed, so what judgment do my opinions matter anyway.

Are you excited about a new Ratchet & Clank game? What Multiplayer features would you like? Is the Mini-game route the best option? When did the camera change!? Let us know in the comments.
