NBA 2k13 Sets Franchise Sales Record

Written by James Pope

The brand new NBA 2k13 has hit stores and saw the biggest first week of sales in the franchises history. 2k11 had previously been the iteration that held this distinctive honor and the team at 2k is now announcing that this years version saw a 49 percent increase over 2k11. Additionally the team is seeing players flock online to test their skills against one another as they’re showing an 127 percent increase in online play when compared to last years 2k12.

Our early sales figures are a validation of our ongoing efforts to push this franchise to new heights, said Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports. We owe it to our great fans to continually improve our title – year in and year out – and that’s exactly what we’ve done with NBA 2K13.

Fans are clearly showing their support and the team at 2k does not take that lightly, this year adding features like the control stick and Olympic style grudge match they’ve secured by teaming up with USA Basketball. With Jay-Z as the EP for the game you can expect a lights out soundtrack and it has even been reported he was directly in collaboration with some of the menu presentation. Keep an eye at for LevelSaves review of NBA 2k13 soon!
