Major Nelson and Richard Irving go over March Xbox One Update

Very soon the next Xbox One update will be rolled out and it will focus mainly on the multiplayer/party experience of the Xbox One. If you are like me then you didn’t really know there was a problem with the party system until recently when the Titanfall beta came out. I mean it worked, but much of what you had to do in order to get it to work just didn’t really make sense. And since Microsoft has all their eggs in the Titanfall basket I’m sure they want the party experience to run flawlessly during Titanfall’s launch.

So this week Larry Hryb, better known as Major Nelson, sat down with Richard Irving from Xbox One’s enginneering team to go over much of what the update will entail.

MJ: “What’s the first most obvious change fans will see when starting up a party?”

RI: “We’ve addressed the number one most requested feature which is turning party chat on by default.”

MJ: “What about cross-games chat and party, Richard?”

RI: “The UI makes a clear distinction between the people that you’re playing with and people that you’re chatting with and you now have three distinct options for bringing people into your party. You can invite them just to the party if you want to chat. You can invite them to the game or you can invite them into the party and game.”

That’s just the first minute of the four minute video. If you want to see what else is coming to the update read the post from last week about what the update will entail or watch the rest of the video below.
